Hicope Drop contains Hydroxyzine 6 mg, an antihistamine with anxiolytic, sedative, and antiemetic properties. It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of anxiety and tension associated with psychoneurosis, as well as for the management of pruritus caused by allergic conditions such as chronic urticaria and atopic dermatitis. Hydroxyzine acts by blocking H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing the effects of histamine in the body, which helps alleviate allergic symptoms. Additionally, its central nervous system depressant effects contribute to its anxiolytic and sedative actions. Hicope Drop is administered orally, with dosage individualized based on the patient's age, condition severity, and response to treatment. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or other piperazine derivatives. Caution is advised in patients with impaired liver or kidney function, those with a history of QT prolongation, and in combination with other central nervous system depressants.
