HH Salic Ointment is a topical formulation containing Mometasone furoate 0.1% w/w, a potent corticosteroid, combined with Salicylic Acid 3.5% w/w, a keratolytic agent. This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses characterized by scaling, thickening, and itching, such as psoriasis, eczema, and seborrheic dermatitis. Mometasone exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cytokines and mediators, thereby reducing erythema, edema, and pruritus. Salicylic Acid facilitates the removal of scales and hyperkeratotic debris by softening and loosening the stratum corneum, enhancing the penetration and efficacy of the corticosteroid. HH Salic Ointment is applied topically to the affected area once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional, and should be used for the shortest duration necessary to achieve therapeutic benefit to minimize potential adverse effects such as skin atrophy, irritation, or systemic absorption. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation and should be avoided on infected or broken skin unless directed by a physician. Caution is advised in pediatric and pregnant patients, and use under medical supervision is recommended.
