Each patch delivers 18mg of Rivastigmine, facilitating once-daily application and enhancing patient compliance. Rivastigmine works by inhibiting the breakdown of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory and cognition, thereby enhancing cholinergic function in the brain. Hetriva 18mg Patch is typically initiated at a lower dose with gradual titration to minimize adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, and skin irritation at the application site.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Rivastigmine or other carbamate derivatives. Caution is advised in patients with a history of cardiac conduction abnormalities, asthma, or active peptic ulcer disease. Regular monitoring of cognitive function and tolerability is recommended during therapy. Hetriva 18mg Patch should be applied to clean, dry, and hairless skin on the upper or lower back, chest, or upper arm, with the application site rotated daily to reduce the risk of local skin reactions.
