Hemzest Tablet contains Hydroxyzine 25mg, a first-generation antihistamine with anxiolytic, sedative, antiemetic, and anticholinergic properties. It is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of anxiety and tension associated with psychoneurosis and as an adjunct in organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. Additionally, Hemzest is effective in the management of pruritus due to allergic conditions such as chronic urticaria, atopic and contact dermatoses, and in the treatment of nausea and vomiting. Hydroxyzine acts by competitively inhibiting H1 histamine receptors, thereby reducing the effects of histamine in allergic reactions. It also exerts a central nervous system depressant effect, which contributes to its anxiolytic and sedative actions. Hemzest Tablet should be administered orally, with dosage tailored according to the severity of symptoms and patient response. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to hydroxyzine or related compounds, as well as those with impaired hepatic or renal function.
