Helirab 20 Tablet contains Rabeprazole 20 mg, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used primarily for the treatment of acid-related gastrointestinal conditions. Rabeprazole works by selectively inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system at the secretory surface of gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing the final step of gastric acid production. This reduction in gastric acid secretion provides symptomatic relief and promotes healing in conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and peptic ulcer disease. Helirab 20 is indicated for short-term treatment of erosive or ulcerative GERD and maintenance therapy to prevent relapse. It is also effective in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection when used in combination with appropriate antibiotics. The tablet is administered orally, typically once daily before meals, to maximize acid suppression.
