Havtop 25 Tablet contains Topiramate 25 mg, an antiepileptic medication primarily used to manage and prevent seizures in patients with epilepsy. Topiramate acts by stabilizing neuronal membranes and inhibiting excitatory neurotransmission, thereby reducing seizure frequency and severity. It is also indicated for the prophylaxis of migraine headaches in adults. Havtop 25 is prescribed as adjunctive therapy for partial-onset seizures, primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. The dosage should be individualized based on patient response and tolerability, typically initiated at a low dose with gradual titration to minimize adverse effects. Common side effects include dizziness, fatigue, cognitive disturbances, weight loss, and paresthesia. Patients should be monitored for metabolic acidosis, kidney stones, and ocular problems such as glaucoma.
