Halobetasol exerts anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by modulating the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing immune responses in the skin. Halox Ointment is primarily used in conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, atopic dermatitis, and lichen planus, providing rapid symptomatic relief by reducing redness, swelling, and itching. The ointment formulation facilitates enhanced skin penetration and prolonged contact time, optimizing therapeutic efficacy. Halox Ointment should be applied sparingly to the affected area once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional, and treatment duration should generally not exceed two weeks to minimize the risk of adverse effects. Common side effects may include local irritation, burning sensation, or dryness at the application site. Prolonged use or occlusive dressing may increase the risk of systemic absorption, potentially leading to hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression.
