Halox F Cream is a topical formulation combining Halobetasol propionate (0.05% w/w), a potent corticosteroid, with Fusidic Acid (2% w/w), a bacteriostatic antibiotic. This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses complicated by secondary bacterial infections, particularly those caused by susceptible strains of Staphylococcus aureus. Halobetasol exerts strong anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects, effectively reducing erythema, edema, and itching associated with various dermatoses such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. Fusidic Acid complements this action by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby controlling and preventing bacterial colonization and infection at the site of inflammation. Halox F Cream is intended for topical use only and should be applied sparingly to the affected area, avoiding prolonged use to minimize potential adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, or systemic corticosteroid absorption. It is contraindicated in viral, fungal, or tubercular skin infections unless appropriate antimicrobial therapy is concurrently administered.
