Salicylic Acid acts as a keratolytic agent, promoting the shedding of the stratum corneum and facilitating enhanced penetration of the corticosteroid. This combination is particularly effective in treating conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, lichen planus, and other hyperkeratotic disorders characterized by thickened, scaly plaques. Halox ES Ointment should be applied sparingly to the affected areas once or twice daily, as prescribed, and treatment duration should be limited to minimize potential adverse effects associated with potent corticosteroids, including skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression.
