Salicylic Acid promotes keratinocyte turnover and reduces inflammation, leading to improved skin texture and reduced acne lesions.
Halobetasol inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory mediators, reducing inflammation and immune response in the skin.
Medical applications
Halonext 3S Lotion is a topical formulation containing Halobetasol propionate 0.05% w/v, a potent corticosteroid, combined with Salicylic Acid 3% w/v, a keratolytic agent. This combination is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and hyperkeratotic skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and seborrheic dermatitis. Halobetasol exerts anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and antiproliferative effects by inhibiting multiple inflammatory cytokines and mediators, thereby reducing erythema, edema, and pruritus. Salicylic Acid facilitates the removal of scales and promotes desquamation by softening and loosening keratinized skin, enhancing the penetration and efficacy of the corticosteroid. Halonext 3S Lotion is intended for topical use and should be applied sparingly to the affected areas once or twice daily as directed by a healthcare professional. Prolonged use or application over large body surface areas should be avoided to minimize the risk of systemic corticosteroid absorption and potential adverse effects such as skin atrophy, telangiectasia, and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis suppression. It is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the formulation and should not be used on infected or ulcerated skin. Consultation with a healthcare provider is recommended before initiating therapy.
