Gocel 200 Capsule contains Celecoxib 200 mg, a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor indicated for the management of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute pain conditions. Celecoxib exerts its therapeutic effect by selectively inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for inflammation, pain, and fever, while sparing COX-1, which helps maintain gastrointestinal mucosal integrity.

This selective inhibition results in a lower risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects compared to non-selective nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Gocel 200 Capsule is administered orally, with dosage tailored to the severity of symptoms and patient response, typically ranging from 100 mg to 200 mg twice daily. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to celecoxib, sulfonamides, aspirin, or other NSAIDs, and in those with active gastrointestinal bleeding or severe hepatic or renal impairment.
Caution is advised in patients with cardiovascular disease due to a potential increased risk of thrombotic events. Common side effects may include dyspepsia, abdominal pain, and headache. Patients should consult their healthcare provider before initiating therapy to ensure appropriate use and monitoring.
