Glotic Cream is a topical formulation containing Hydroquinone (2% w/w), Mometasone Furoate (0.1% w/w), and Tretinoin (0.025% w/w), indicated for the treatment of various hyperpigmentation disorders such as melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and other pigmentary abnormalities. Hydroquinone acts as a skin-lightening agent by inhibiting tyrosinase, an enzyme essential for melanin synthesis, thereby reducing pigmentation. Mometasone, a potent corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, helping to reduce erythema, edema, and irritation associated with pigmentary disorders. Tretinoin, a retinoid, promotes epidermal cell turnover and enhances the penetration of hydroquinone while also improving skin texture and reducing fine wrinkles. The combination of these agents offers a synergistic effect in managing hyperpigmentation with improved efficacy compared to monotherapy. Glotic Cream should be applied once daily at bedtime to the affected areas, avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Patients are advised to use sunscreen during the day to prevent further pigmentation and photosensitivity. Use is generally limited to short-term therapy under medical supervision due to potential side effects such as skin irritation, dryness, and corticosteroid-related adverse effects. This product is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component and should be used cautiously in pregnant or lactating women.
