Mometasone, a potent corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects, helping to reduce erythema, edema, and irritation associated with pigmentary disorders. Tretinoin, a retinoid, promotes epidermal cell turnover and enhances the penetration of hydroquinone while also improving skin texture and reducing fine wrinkles. The combination of these agents offers a synergistic effect in managing hyperpigmentation with improved efficacy compared to monotherapy.
Glotic Cream should be applied once daily at bedtime to the affected areas, avoiding contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Patients are advised to use sunscreen during the day to prevent further pigmentation and photosensitivity. Use is generally limited to short-term therapy under medical supervision due to potential side effects such as skin irritation, dryness, and corticosteroid-related adverse effects.
