Gloristat 20 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin 20mg, a potent lipid-lowering agent belonging to the statin class of medications. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia to reduce elevated total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C). Rosuvastatin acts by selectively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, resulting in decreased cholesterol production and increased clearance of LDL particles from the bloodstream. Gloristat 20 is prescribed to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction, stroke, and the need for coronary revascularization in patients with established cardiovascular disease or multiple risk factors. It is also beneficial in managing familial hypercholesterolemia. The tablet should be taken orally, once daily, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
