Clindamycin is a lincosamide antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, thereby exerting a bacteriostatic effect against Propionibacterium acnes, a key pathogen in acne pathogenesis. Nicotinamide, a form of vitamin B3, possesses anti-inflammatory and sebostatic properties, contributing to the reduction of erythema and lesion count. The combination of these agents provides a dual mechanism of action targeting both microbial colonization and inflammatory response. Glocin Gel is applied topically to the affected areas once or twice daily, as directed by a healthcare professional.
