It is primarily indicated for the management of hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia to reduce elevated total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B, and triglycerides, while increasing high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C).

Rosuvastatin exerts its therapeutic effect by selectively inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, thereby decreasing hepatic cholesterol production and enhancing clearance of LDL particles from the bloodstream. Glihypo-Plus 10 Tablet is prescribed as an adjunct to diet, exercise, and lifestyle modifications for patients with primary hyperlipidemia or familial hypercholesterolemia and for the prevention of cardiovascular disease in high-risk individuals.
It is also used in patients with mixed dyslipidemia to improve lipid profiles. The recommended dosage should be individualized based on patient response and risk factors, with regular monitoring of lipid levels and liver function tests advised during therapy. Common adverse effects include myalgia, headache, and gastrointestinal disturbances, while rare but serious effects such as myopathy and hepatotoxicity require prompt medical attention.
Caution is advised in patients with hepatic impairment or those taking concomitant medications that may interact with Rosuvastatin.
