Nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, complements this action through inhibition of norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake, enhancing analgesic efficacy and providing additional benefits in mood stabilization. The synergistic effect of these agents makes Giae-NT particularly effective in conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and fibromyalgia. This combination may also be utilized off-label for certain anxiety disorders and chronic pain states refractory to monotherapy.
Giae-NT should be administered under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on patient response and tolerability. Common adverse effects include dizziness, somnolence, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal disturbances. Caution is advised in patients with renal impairment, cardiovascular disease, or a history of seizures. Giae-NT is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to either component and should not be abruptly discontinued to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
