Gemrin 5 Tablet contains Procyclidine 5mg, an anticholinergic agent primarily used in the management of Parkinson's disease and drug-induced extrapyramidal symptoms. Procyclidine acts by restoring the balance between acetylcholine and dopamine in the central nervous system, thereby alleviating muscle rigidity, tremors, and bradykinesia associated with Parkinsonism. It is also effective in controlling dystonia and other movement disorders caused by antipsychotic medications. Gemrin 5 Tablet is indicated for both the symptomatic treatment of Parkinson’s disease and the prevention or treatment of extrapyramidal side effects induced by neuroleptic drugs. The tablet is administered orally, with dosage adjusted according to the patient’s clinical response and tolerance. Common side effects may include dry mouth, blurred vision, constipation, urinary retention, and dizziness, which are typical of anticholinergic therapy. Caution is advised in patients with glaucoma, prostatic hypertrophy, or gastrointestinal obstruction. Gemrin 5 should be used under medical supervision, with periodic assessment to monitor efficacy and adverse effects. It is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to Procyclidine or other anticholinergic agents.
