Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility and accelerates gastric emptying, reducing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, bloating, and discomfort associated with delayed gastric emptying or gastroparesis. The synergistic action of these two agents makes Gastroprazole D Capsule particularly useful in treating gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, and other related upper gastrointestinal motility disorders.
It is generally well tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with cardiac arrhythmias or electrolyte imbalances due to Domperidone’s potential to prolong the QT interval.
