Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers. The synergistic action of these two agents addresses both the symptomatic relief of gastric motility disorders and the reduction of gastric acidity, promoting mucosal healing and symptom resolution.
Gastopan-D is indicated for patients experiencing dyspepsia, GERD, and functional dyspepsia with associated delayed gastric emptying. It is generally well-tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with underlying cardiac conditions due to the potential risk of QT interval prolongation associated with Domperidone. Use should be under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and patient tolerance.
