Gastopan-D Tablet is a combination medication containing Domperidone 10 mg and Pantoprazole 40 mg, formulated to manage gastrointestinal disorders characterized by acid reflux, indigestion, and delayed gastric emptying. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby alleviating symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers. The synergistic action of these two agents addresses both the symptomatic relief of gastric motility disorders and the reduction of gastric acidity, promoting mucosal healing and symptom resolution. Gastopan-D is indicated for patients experiencing dyspepsia, GERD, and functional dyspepsia with associated delayed gastric emptying. It is generally well-tolerated; however, caution is advised in patients with underlying cardiac conditions due to the potential risk of QT interval prolongation associated with Domperidone.
