Gasopil-DSR Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30 mg and Pantoprazole 40 mg, designed to manage gastrointestinal disorders associated with acid reflux and motility disturbances. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility by promoting gastric emptying and reducing nausea and vomiting. Pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, thereby providing effective relief from acid-related symptoms such as heartburn, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and erosive esophagitis. The combined action of these agents in Gasopil-DSR Capsule facilitates symptomatic relief from upper gastrointestinal discomfort, improves gastric emptying, and prevents acid-induced mucosal damage. It is indicated for the treatment of GERD, functional dyspepsia, and other acid-peptic disorders where delayed gastric emptying and acid hypersecretion coexist. Gasopil-DSR should be administered under medical supervision, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, and it is contraindicated in those with prolactin-releasing pituitary tumors. Adverse effects may include headache, dry mouth, abdominal cramps, and, rarely, extrapyramidal symptoms. Regular monitoring is recommended during prolonged therapy.
