Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, resulting in decreased acid production and promoting healing of acid-related mucosal damage. The sustained-release formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, improving efficacy and patient compliance.
Gasogut-D Capsule SR is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), functional dyspepsia, and other acid-peptic disorders where both acid suppression and enhanced gastric motility are desired. It should be used under medical supervision, with caution advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, underlying cardiac conditions, or those taking medications that may interact with domperidone or esomeprazole.
