Gabaraksh-NT Tablet is a combination medication containing Gabapentin 400mg and Nortriptyline 10mg, primarily used for the management of neuropathic pain and certain neurological disorders. Gabapentin, an anticonvulsant, works by stabilizing electrical nerve activity in the brain and reducing abnormal excitement, thereby alleviating nerve pain and preventing seizures. Nortriptyline, a tricyclic antidepressant, enhances the effect of neurotransmitters in the nervous system, which helps improve mood and also provides pain relief by modulating nerve signals. Together, these active ingredients offer a synergistic effect for treating conditions such as diabetic neuropathy, postherpetic neuralgia, and chronic nerve pain that is resistant to other treatments. Gabaraksh-NT is also sometimes prescribed off-label for anxiety and certain types of depression due to Nortriptyline’s antidepressant properties. The tablet should be taken as directed by a healthcare professional, usually once or twice daily, with or without food. Patients should be cautious of potential side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and gastrointestinal discomfort. It is important to avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
