G-Tek-FX Tablet is a combination medication containing Montelukast 10 mg and Fexofenadine 120 mg, formulated for the management of allergic conditions. Montelukast, a leukotriene receptor antagonist, works by inhibiting the action of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory chemicals released during allergic reactions, thereby reducing bronchoconstriction, mucus production, and inflammation. Fexofenadine, a second-generation antihistamine, selectively blocks peripheral H1 histamine receptors, effectively alleviating symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy or watery eyes, and urticaria without causing significant sedation. This synergistic combination is indicated for the treatment of allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and other allergic manifestations where both leukotriene-mediated and histamine-mediated pathways are involved. G-Tek-FX Tablet offers a convenient once-daily dosing regimen, improving patient compliance. It is generally well tolerated; however, patients should be monitored for potential adverse effects including headache, gastrointestinal disturbances, and hypersensitivity reactions. Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment and those on concurrent medications metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes.
