Fepanil-Mef Oral Suspension is a combination analgesic and antipyretic medication containing Mefenamic Acid (50mg/5ml) and Paracetamol (125mg/5ml). It is primarily used for the relief of mild to moderate pain and fever associated with conditions such as headaches, dental pain, musculoskeletal pain, menstrual cramps, and post-immunization fever. Mefenamic Acid, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain and inflammation. Paracetamol, on the other hand, acts centrally to alleviate pain and reduce fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the brain. The oral suspension formulation allows for easy administration, especially in pediatric and geriatric patients who may have difficulty swallowing tablets. Fepanil-Mef is generally well-tolerated when used as directed; however, it should be used cautiously in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, liver or kidney impairment, or hypersensitivity to NSAIDs or paracetamol.
