Fusidic Acid inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by interfering with the function of elongation factor G, thereby preventing bacterial growth.
Mometasone inhibits the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines and mediators, reducing inflammation and immune response.
Medical applications
Etaze-ID Cream contains a combination of Mometasone (0.1% w/w), a potent topical corticosteroid, and Fusidic Acid (2% w/w), a bacteriostatic antibiotic. This formulation is designed to treat inflammatory skin conditions complicated by bacterial infections. Mometasone works by reducing inflammation, redness, and itching through its anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive properties, providing symptomatic relief in conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis.
Fusidic Acid targets gram-positive bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby preventing the growth and spread of infection. Etaze-ID Cream is particularly effective in managing infected eczema or other inflammatory dermatoses where secondary bacterial infection is present or suspected. It should be applied topically in a thin layer to the affected area once or twice daily as directed by a healthcare professional.
Use should be limited to the shortest duration necessary to avoid potential side effects associated with corticosteroids, such as skin thinning or systemic absorption. Patients should avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes and discontinue use if irritation or hypersensitivity occurs. Etaze-ID Cream is intended for external use only and should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
