Esomex-DSR Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30 mg and Esomeprazole 40 mg, designed for the effective management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, and related upper gastrointestinal disorders. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), acts by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, thereby significantly reducing gastric acid secretion and promoting mucosal healing. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility and accelerates gastric emptying, providing symptomatic relief from nausea, vomiting, bloating, and discomfort associated with delayed gastric emptying. The combination of these two agents offers a dual mechanism of action, addressing both acid suppression and motility enhancement, which improves overall therapeutic efficacy in patients with acid-related dyspepsia and reflux symptoms. Esomex-DSR is indicated for short-term treatment of erosive esophagitis, symptomatic GERD, and functional dyspepsia where delayed gastric emptying is a contributing factor.
