Esogress-D Capsule SR is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30mg and Esomeprazole 40mg, designed for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and related upper gastrointestinal disorders. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, facilitates gastric motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby reducing symptoms of nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing effective relief from acid-related mucosal damage and promoting ulcer healing. The sustained-release (SR) formulation ensures prolonged therapeutic plasma concentrations, enhancing patient compliance through reduced dosing frequency. Esogress-D Capsule SR is indicated for the treatment of erosive esophagitis, symptomatic GERD, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and prevention of acid reflux-related complications. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, and caution is advised in individuals with hepatic impairment or cardiac arrhythmias due to Domperidone’s potential to prolong QT interval.
