Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), suppresses gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, providing symptomatic relief from acid-related conditions including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers. The combined action of these agents offers both symptomatic relief and promotes healing of the esophageal mucosa.
Esmonova-DSR is indicated for patients suffering from GERD with associated motility disorders, functional dyspepsia, and other acid-peptic diseases where enhanced gastric emptying and acid suppression are required. It should be used under medical supervision, considering contraindications such as hypersensitivity to components, prolonged QT interval, and concurrent use of medications that may interact adversely.
