Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, selectively inhibits the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, effectively suppressing gastric acid secretion and promoting mucosal healing in conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. The synergistic effect of these two agents provides symptomatic relief from heartburn, acid regurgitation, and upper abdominal discomfort while improving gastric motility.
Esmodoz-RD is indicated for patients with GERD accompanied by delayed gastric emptying or gastroparesis. It should be administered as prescribed by a healthcare professional, with attention to contraindications such as hypersensitivity to components, prolactin-dependent tumors, or significant cardiac arrhythmias.
