Esdovi-DSR Capsule is a combination pharmaceutical formulation containing Domperidone 30mg and Esomeprazole 40mg, indicated for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, and other acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. Domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, enhances gastrointestinal motility and accelerates gastric emptying, thereby reducing symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and bloating. Esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor, suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, promoting mucosal healing and symptom relief. The synergistic action of these agents provides effective relief from acid reflux, heartburn, and associated dyspeptic symptoms. Esdovi-DSR is typically administered orally, once daily before meals, with dosage adjustments based on clinical response and patient tolerance. Caution is advised in patients with known hypersensitivity to either component, and it should be used cautiously in individuals with hepatic impairment or those on medications metabolized via the cytochrome P450 system due to potential drug interactions.
