Esavasone Lotion is a topical formulation containing Ketoconazole 2% w/v and Clobetasone 0.005% w/v, indicated for the treatment of inflammatory and fungal skin conditions. Ketoconazole, an imidazole antifungal agent, exhibits broad-spectrum activity against dermatophytes, yeasts, and some molds by inhibiting ergosterol synthesis, thereby disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity. Clobetasone, a moderately potent corticosteroid, provides anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects, reducing redness, swelling, and itching associated with dermatological disorders. The combination of these active ingredients makes Esavasone Lotion effective in managing fungal infections complicated by inflammation, such as seborrheic dermatitis, tinea corporis, and candidiasis with inflammatory components. It is applied topically to the affected area, usually twice daily, and treatment duration should be limited to the shortest period necessary to achieve clinical improvement to minimize potential corticosteroid-related adverse effects. Common side effects may include local irritation, burning sensation, or dryness at the application site.
