Epival Oral Solution contains Sodium Valproate 200mg/5ml, an anticonvulsant and mood-stabilizing agent used primarily in the management of epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and certain types of migraine prophylaxis. Sodium Valproate acts by increasing brain levels of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), an inhibitory neurotransmitter, thereby stabilizing neuronal activity and preventing seizure propagation. Epival Oral Solution is indicated for the treatment of generalized and partial seizures, including absence seizures, myoclonic seizures, and complex partial seizures. It is also prescribed for the management of acute manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder and for the prevention of migraine headaches in adult patients. The oral solution formulation allows for flexible dosing, particularly beneficial in pediatric and geriatric populations or patients with swallowing difficulties.
