MAYCEF O PLUS DRY SYRUP is a combination antibiotic preparation containing Cefixime and Ofloxacin, two powerful antibacterial agents that work together to combat a wide range of bacterial infections. This dual-action formulation is designed to provide broad-spectrum coverage against susceptible bacteria, making it effective in treating both uncomplicated and severe infections.
How it's taken
Reconstitution : Boil water, let it cool down to room temperature, and slowly add it up to the ring mark indicated on the bottle. Shake the bottle vigorously until the powder dissolves smoothly.
Shake well before each use. Use the exact measuring spoon or cup provided.
This medicine can be taken with or without food, but taking it after a light meal helps prevent stomach upset.
Crucial Rule: Always complete the entire course of antibiotics prescribed by the doctor, even if your child feels better after a few doses. Stopping early can make the bacteria resistant to future treatment.
Kidney & liver
Kidney — caution: Both Cefixime and Ofloxacin are cleared through the kidneys. If the patient has pre-existing kidney impairment, a doctor must adjust the dose lower to avoid toxicity. Liver — safe: It is generally safe for patients with mild-to-moderate liver disease. However, close monitoring is recommended if severe hepatic impairment exists.
