About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Olimab Injection contains Denosumab 60mg/ml, a fully human monoclonal antibody that specifically targets and binds to RANKL (Receptor Activator of Nuclear factor Kappa-Β Ligand), a key mediator of osteoclast formation, function, and survival. By inhibiting RANKL, Denosumab effectively reduces bone resorption and increases bone mass and strength in patients with conditions characterized by increased bone turnover. Olimab Injection is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk of fracture, as well as for the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors. Additionally, it is utilized in the management of giant cell tumor of bone and other conditions involving abnormal bone remodeling. Administered via subcutaneous injection, Olimab Injection is typically given every six months under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing the incidence of vertebral, non-vertebral, and hip fractures, improving bone mineral density, and decreasing bone pain associated with metastatic bone disease. Common adverse effects include hypocalcemia, infections, dermatologic reactions, and musculoskeletal pain. Patients should be monitored for calcium levels and advised on adequate calcium and vitamin D intake during treatment with Olimab Injection.
