Jellyfos Sachet contains Alendronic Acid 70 mg, a bisphosphonate used primarily in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis and other bone diseases characterized by increased bone resorption. Alendronic Acid acts by inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption, thereby increasing bone mineral density and reducing the risk of fractures, particularly in postmenopausal women and patients receiving corticosteroid therapy. The sachet formulation allows for convenient oral administration, typically taken once weekly on an empty stomach with a full glass of water to enhance absorption and reduce gastrointestinal irritation. Patients are advised to remain upright for at least 30 minutes post-dose to minimize the risk of esophageal irritation or ulceration. Jellyfos Sachet is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men, prevention of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis, and treatment of Paget’s disease of bone. It is contraindicated in patients with abnormalities of the esophagus that delay esophageal emptying, hypocalcemia, or those unable to remain upright for at least 30 minutes. Common adverse effects include gastrointestinal symptoms such as dyspepsia, esophagitis, and abdominal pain. Adequate calcium and vitamin D intake should be ensured during therapy to optimize treatment outcomes. Jellyfos Sachet should be used under medical supervision with periodic monitoring of bone mineral density and renal function.
