About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Odensomab Injection contains Denosumab 60mg/ml, a fully human monoclonal antibody that specifically targets and inhibits RANKL (Receptor Activator of Nuclear factor Kappa-B Ligand), a key mediator in the formation, function, and survival of osteoclasts. By binding to RANKL, Odensomab effectively reduces osteoclast activity, leading to decreased bone resorption and increased bone mass and strength. It is indicated for the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and men at high risk of fracture, as well as for the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumors. Additionally, Odensomab is utilized in managing giant cell tumor of bone and certain cases of hypercalcemia of malignancy refractory to standard therapies. Administered via subcutaneous injection, the dosing regimen should be tailored based on the specific indication and patient profile. Common adverse effects include hypocalcemia, infections, dermatologic reactions, and musculoskeletal pain. Patients receiving Odensomab should have adequate calcium and vitamin D intake to mitigate hypocalcemia risk. Regular monitoring of serum calcium, phosphate, and magnesium levels is recommended during therapy. Odensomab offers a targeted therapeutic approach to bone-related disorders by modulating osteoclast-mediated bone turnover, thereby improving clinical outcomes in affected patients.
