About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Hyscab Cream contains Permethrin 5% w/w, a synthetic pyrethroid with potent scabicidal and pediculicidal properties. It is indicated for the topical treatment of scabies, a contagious skin infestation caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei. Permethrin acts by disrupting the sodium channel current in nerve cells of the mite, leading to delayed repolarization, paralysis, and eventual death of the parasite. Hyscab Cream is applied as a single overnight treatment to the entire body from the neck down, ensuring thorough coverage of all affected areas. After 8 to 14 hours, the cream should be washed off with water. In cases of persistent or recurrent infestation, a second application may be necessary after 7 to 10 days. The formulation is generally well tolerated, with adverse effects being mild and transient, including local skin irritation, itching, or erythema. It is contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity to permethrin or any component of the cream. Use in pregnant or lactating women should be under medical supervision. Hyscab Cream offers an effective and convenient therapeutic option for the management of scabies, contributing to symptom relief and eradication of the mite infestation.
