Zisclav-LB 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 500 mg, Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, and Lactobacillus 60 million spores, designed for the treatment of a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic, exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Amoxycillin by preventing degradation by beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria. The inclusion of Lactobacillus, a probiotic, helps maintain and restore normal intestinal flora during and after antibiotic therapy, reducing the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and other gastrointestinal disturbances. Zisclav-LB 625 is indicated for infections caused by susceptible strains, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and otitis media. It should be administered as prescribed, with dosage adjustments based on infection severity and patient-specific factors. Caution is advised in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or beta-lactamase inhibitors.
