Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin, acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death, while Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone, inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing bacterial replication and transcription. This synergistic combination enhances antibacterial efficacy against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens, including strains resistant to monotherapy. Zanocin Plus is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and sexually transmitted infections caused by susceptible organisms.
