Xybrocef-LB Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefixime 200 mg and Lactobacillus 60 million spores, designed for the effective management of bacterial infections while supporting gastrointestinal health. Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, exhibits broad-spectrum activity against various gram-positive and gram-negative pathogens by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death. It is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, otitis media, and uncomplicated gonorrhea. The inclusion of Lactobacillus, a beneficial probiotic, helps maintain and restore the natural balance of intestinal flora, which may be disrupted during antibiotic therapy, thereby reducing the risk of antibiotic-associated diarrhea and other gastrointestinal disturbances. Xybrocef-LB is indicated for patients requiring antibiotic treatment who are at risk of dysbiosis or wish to preserve gut microbiota integrity. The tablet should be administered as per the prescribed dosage regimen, typically once or twice daily, with or without food.
