Xtralite Cream is a topical dermatological formulation containing Azelaic Acid 10% w/w and Tretinoin 0.05% w/w, indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris and hyperpigmentation disorders. Azelaic Acid exhibits antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and comedolytic properties, effectively reducing Propionibacterium acnes proliferation and normalizing keratinization to prevent follicular occlusion. Tretinoin, a retinoid derivative of vitamin A, promotes epidermal cell turnover and reduces the formation of microcomedones, thereby enhancing the clearance of existing acne lesions and preventing new ones. The combination of these active ingredients provides a synergistic effect, improving skin texture and tone while addressing post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Xtralite Cream is applied once daily to the affected areas, preferably in the evening, after cleansing the skin. Patients should be advised to use a broad-spectrum sunscreen during the day due to increased photosensitivity associated with tretinoin. Common adverse effects may include mild erythema, peeling, dryness, and transient burning sensation at the application site, which typically subside with continued use.
