Xoxe-CV Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Cefuroxime 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, designed to treat a broad spectrum of bacterial infections. Cefuroxime, a second-generation cephalosporin, exhibits bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, effectively targeting both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms. Clavulanic Acid acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor, preventing enzymatic degradation of Cefuroxime and thereby enhancing its efficacy against beta-lactamase-producing resistant strains. Xoxe-CV is indicated for the management of respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, sinusitis, and other susceptible bacterial infections. The combination is particularly useful in cases where resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics is suspected or confirmed. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity of infection, patient age, renal function, and clinical response. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, diarrhea, and abdominal discomfort, along with hypersensitivity reactions in susceptible individuals.
