Xoclub 625 Tablet is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 500 mg and Clavulanic Acid 125 mg, designed to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Amoxycillin, a beta-lactam antibiotic, exerts its bactericidal action by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls, leading to cell lysis and death. Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances the efficacy of Amoxycillin by preventing the enzymatic degradation of the antibiotic by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria, thereby broadening its spectrum of activity. Xoclub 625 is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, otitis media, and sinusitis. The combination is effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative organisms, including beta-lactamase-producing strains. Dosage and duration of therapy should be determined based on the severity and type of infection, as well as patient-specific factors such as renal function. Common side effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, while hypersensitivity reactions may occur in penicillin-sensitive individuals.
