Xoclave-Duo Dry Syrup is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Amoxycillin 400 mg and Clavulanic Acid 57 mg per 5 ml of reconstituted suspension. Amoxycillin, a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, exerts bactericidal activity by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, enhances Amoxycillin’s efficacy by preventing enzymatic degradation by beta-lactamase-producing bacteria. This synergistic combination is effective against a wide range of susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacterial infections, including respiratory tract infections, otitis media, sinusitis, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and dental infections. Xoclave-Duo Dry Syrup is particularly useful in pediatric patients due to its palatable formulation and accurate dosing. The dry syrup should be reconstituted with the specified amount of water before administration, and dosing should be adjusted according to the severity of infection and patient weight.
