About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Mox Suspension is a pediatric formulation of Amoxycillin, a semi-synthetic penicillin, for oral administration. This suspension is indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory infections, including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and otitis media, as well as other bacterial infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and skin infections. Mox Suspension is also effective against Haemophilus influenzae, Streptococcus pneumoniae, and Streptococcus pyogenes, common pathogens responsible for these infections. The recommended dose for children is 2.5 mL (250mg) every 8 hours, not to exceed 10 mL (1000mg) per day. In cases of severe infections, the dose may be doubled every 12 hours, but not to exceed 15 mL (1500mg) per day. The suspension should be administered 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals. It is essential to complete the full course of therapy, even if symptoms improve earlier, to ensure the eradication of the infecting organism. Mox Suspension should be used under the guidance of a healthcare professional and is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillin or beta-lactam antibiotics.
