About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Mox CV 400mg/57mg Tablet DT is a combination antibiotic product containing amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. This tablet is designed to be taken twice daily, with the patient's food, for a maximum duration of 14 days. The amoxycillin component is a semi-synthetic penicillin that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while the clavulanic acid component is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that prevents the action of beta-lactamase enzymes. The combination of these two agents provides a broad-spectrum antimicrobial effect against a wide range of bacterial pathogens, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Mox CV 400mg/57mg Tablet DT is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate infections of the respiratory, urinary, and gastrointestinal tracts, as well as mild to moderate infections of the skin and soft tissues. The product is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to penicillin or cephalosporins, and should be used with caution in patients with a history of kidney or liver impairment.
