About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Mofag Eye Drop is a sterile, topical ophthalmic solution containing moxifloxacin 0.5% w/v, indicated for the treatment of bacterial conjunctivitis and keratitis. The product is a clear, colorless to pale yellow solution with a pH range of 5.5 to 6.5. Each 0.5 mL of solution contains 2.5 mg of moxifloxacin. Mofag Eye Drop is a broad-spectrum antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by targeting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby exerting a bactericidal effect. The solution is instilled 2 to 4 times daily, usually every 15 to 30 minutes, to a maximum of 8 times daily. The recommended duration of treatment is 7 days, although the actual treatment period may vary depending on the severity and nature of the infection. Mofag Eye Drop has been shown to be effective against a range of bacterial pathogens, including Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. As with all antibiotic products, Mofag Eye Drop should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergic reactions to fluoroquinolones or other antibiotics.
