About This Medicine
Product description & overview
Mkflox-O Tablet is a fixed-dose combination of Cefixime (200mg) and Ofloxacin (200mg), indicated for the treatment of moderate to severe infections such as community-acquired pneumonia, urinary tract infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin, inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, while Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone, targets bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, thereby preventing DNA replication and transcription. The combination synergistically enhances bacterial killing and reduces the emergence of resistance. Mkflox-O Tablet exhibits excellent in vitro activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Escherichia coli. The tablet is administered orally every 12 hours, with the dosage adjusted according to the patient's weight and disease severity. Mkflox-O Tablet is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to either Cefixime or Ofloxacin, as well as those with myasthenia gravis, tendonitis, or tendon rupture.
