Mitcef 500mg Tablet is a prescription-only antibiotic product containing Cefuroxime as the active ingredient, available in a 500mg strength. This oral antibacterial agent is indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including respiratory infections such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and bronchitis, as well as skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and otitis media. Mitcef 500mg Tablet is also effective against various microorganisms, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, and Moraxella catarrhalis. The product is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillin. Patients with impaired renal function or history of seizures may require dose adjustments. Mitcef 500mg Tablet should be taken every 8-12 hours, with or without food, and the recommended adult dose is 500mg (1 tablet) every 8-12 hours for 7-14 days.
