Lquin 750 Tablet contains Levofloxacin 750 mg, a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections including respiratory tract infections such as community-acquired pneumonia, chronic bronchitis exacerbations, and sinusitis; urinary tract infections including complicated and uncomplicated cases; skin and soft tissue infections; and prostatitis. Levofloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, thereby exerting bactericidal activity. The recommended dosage and duration depend on the type and severity of infection, renal function, and patient-specific factors. Lquin 750 should be administered with caution in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolones, tendon disorders, or central nervous system conditions. Common adverse effects may include gastrointestinal disturbances, headache, dizziness, and photosensitivity. Serious but rare adverse events include tendon rupture, QT interval prolongation, and hypersensitivity reactions. It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to levofloxacin or other quinolones. Proper hydration is advised during therapy to prevent crystalluria.
